My little story about Covid-19

After two years of dodging Covid-19 while working in a kindergarten, I kind of knew it was only a matter of time. I mean, toddlers are adorable, but let’s be honest—they’re still learning things like “don’t cough directly into your friend’s face” and “maybe wash your hands after finger painting with your lunch.”

Our kindergarten had dozens of confirmed cases—both kids and teachers—but because we were classified as essential workers, even if someone got Covid in your classroom, you weren’t considered a close contact. So unless you were literally coughing glitter, you just kept showing up to work.

And then... my turn came.

During my seven days in isolation, I was completely wiped out. I slept like a koala on sedatives. And when I wasn’t asleep? All I could think about was... milk tea. I’m hopelessly addicted.

Once I started feeling human again, I made this little comic to capture the experience.
