As a parent and educator, I know how beneficial the sun can be for children—it brings warmth, energy, and endless opportunities for outdoor adventures. But I’m also aware of the hidden risks of UV rays on their delicate skin. That’s why I created this illustration—to gently guide children in becoming more "sun-smart" before heading outside.

This picture serves three main purposes:
🌞To teach children the importance of sun protection
Through a friendly and familiar visual, I want kids to remember: before going out to play, put on your hat and sunglasses!
🎒 To encourage grown-ups to make sun protection accessible
The characters in the illustration are shown reaching for their hats and sunglasses—this is a little nudge to parents and teachers to keep these items within easy reach, so building sun-safe habits becomes part of the routine.
🌳 To promote playing in shaded outdoor spaces
While I fully support outdoor exploration, it’s important to choose areas with trees or shade structures so children can play comfortably and safely under the sun.
I hope this simple little drawing becomes a gentle daily reminder by the door or backpack cubby, helping kids grow up happy and healthy under the sun. ☀️👒🕶️
📸 Feel free to print and hang this near your door or classroom wall—it's a friendly reminder for little ones to stay sun-smart!
