Baby’s First Birthday Party in Melbourne

A Special Thank You

A huge thank you to my mother-in-law and two sisters-in-law for helping me every step of the way, from planning to decorating. My mother-in-law handmade the piñata, baked cookies, prepared a fruit platter, and even used her laser cutter to create adorable party decorations. We also worked together to set up the venue—she really went above and beyond!

Another big shoutout to Catherine for the amazing birthday cakes—they were absolutely delicious! A party just doesn’t feel like a party without cake, right? And of course, thank you to everyone who brought gifts and blessings—we truly appreciate every bit of love and thoughtfulness.

時間過得好快，我的寶寶一歲了！

轉眼間，我們的兒子已經滿一歲了，這也意味著，我和丹尼的「爸爸、媽媽」身份正式一歲了。老實說，我現在還在慢慢適應成為媽媽這件事，也在習慣全職家庭主婦的角色。沒有自己的收入，有時會讓人懷疑自己的價值，但在這段時間，我也「生」出了 Artmigo（沒錯，我就是閒不下來的人）。總體來說，當媽媽是一場既挑戰又充滿驚喜的人生體驗。

我們平常不是會替自己辦派對的人，但孩子的第一個生日，怎麼樣都不想錯過。其實，這場派對不只是為了慶祝寶寶一歲，更是想藉這個機會感謝一路上支持我們這對新手爸媽的每一位朋友。

特別感謝

特別要感謝我的婆婆和兩個小姑，她們陪我從前期準備到當天佈置，讓這場生日宴變得溫馨又難忘。婆婆親手做了皮納塔（Pinata）、手工餅乾，還準備了水果拼盤，甚至用她的雷射切割機製作了好多精美的派對小物，還跟我一起佈置場地，真的超用心！
還有非常感謝 Catherine 製作的生日蛋糕，真的太好吃了！果然有蛋糕的派對才有真正的派對感。當然，也要謝謝大家送來的禮物與祝福，每一份心意我們都深深感激。

Time Flies—Our Baby Turns One!

Time really does fly—our little boy just turned one! That also means Danny and I have officially been “Mom” and “Dad” for a year now. Honestly, I’m still adjusting to being a mom, and learning to embrace the role of a full-time homemaker. Not having my own income sometimes makes me question my self-worth, but during this time, I also gave birth to Artmigo (because I just can’t sit still!). Overall, being a mom has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life.

We’re not usually the type to throw parties for ourselves, but when it came to our baby’s first birthday, there was no way we could skip it. This celebration wasn’t just about marking his first year—it was also a way for us to say thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey as new parents.

The Perfect Venue

Before settling on a venue, I did some research and found that community spaces are the best value—no guest limit and super affordable. Winter is off-season, so booking was a breeze! You just need to become a member to get the discounted rate.

What I loved most about this venue is that it offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, plus adult and child restrooms, and even a kitchen. Perfect for unpredictable Melbourne weather! We were lucky to have sunny skies on the big day, so we enjoyed the outdoor area. The space is fully fenced too, so parents could relax without worrying about little ones running off.

It Takes a Village

There’s an African proverb that says, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” And it’s so true—raising a child isn’t just the responsibility of the family; every interaction and environment plays a role. Warm greetings, chance encounters, hugs, sunny days at the park, stroller walks, thoughtful gifts, and kind gestures—all these have given us so much strength as first-time parents.

Happy Birthday, my sweet boy! May you grow up safe, healthy, and full of joy. We love you ❤️

場地選擇

在決定派對場地之前，我研究了附近幾個選項，發現 community 的活動空間最划算，還沒有人數限制！而且現在是冬天淡季，場地超容易預訂。只要先加入會員，就能用會員價格租場地，非常划算。

這個場地最棒的是 同時擁有室內與室外空間，還設有大人和小孩的洗手間，以及廚房，對於多變的墨爾本天氣來說真的很實用。幸運的是，派對當天出了大太陽，我們就把重點放在戶外區域。更貼心的是，場地周圍有安全圍欄，所以帶孩子的賓客完全不用擔心小朋友亂跑。

全村之力

非洲有句諺語：「養育一個孩子需要舉全村之力。It takes a whole village to raise a child.」意思是，教養孩子不只是家庭的責任，周遭的環境和人際互動也會影響孩子的成長。溫暖的問候、偶遇時的一個擁抱、一起去公園曬太陽、推著嬰兒車散步，還有大家送來的禮物與善意，都讓我們這對新手爸媽感受到滿滿的力量。
